NBCC Board Application Deadline August 1, 2017

August 1, 2017

The National Breast Cancer Coalition (NBCC) invites your organization to nominate an individual to serve on the NBCC Board of Directors. The deadline for submitting a completed application is Tuesday, August 1, 2017. To request a Board application packet, please call (800) 622-2838 or (202) 973-0590. Additional information about NBCC Board service is provided below.

NBCC will hold elections for the Board of Directors in the fall of 2017. We encourage organizations to consider nominating an individual for a seat on the Board.

The Board is comprised of up to 26 individuals representing national, state, regional and local organizations. They bring diverse perspectives to NBCC's decisions on public policy and legislative initiatives. Click here to see a list of current Board members.

The NBCC Board meets in person three times a year.  A fourth meeting is held via teleconference/webinar. At least two of the in person meetings are held in Washington, DC.  It is expected that each Board Director will attend all board meetings.

The estimated travel costs associated with each meeting vary. Individuals in Washington, DC generally incur less expense and those from areas that are not serviced by a major airport incur more expense. Each Board member is responsible for assuming the costs associated with her/his own participation on the Board. In addition, each Board member must pay $500 in dues per year.

Organizations nominating an individual for a seat on the NBCC Board of Directors must submit a completed application no later than August 1, 2017. To request a Board application packet, contact the national office at (202) 296-7477, and provide your email address for electronic delivery (preferred) or a mailing address for a hard copy. If you have questions about the application process, please contact NBCC’s Chief Operating Officer- Chief of Staff Brandi Felser at the above number or email Brandi at
NBCC encourages participation by its grassroots members/member organizations and involves them in public policy, thus making a major impact on the nation's science and health care systems. All members are welcome to become directly involved in our advocacy efforts by joining the National Action Network. Organizations can further increase their level of participation in federal and state advocacy through NBCC's network of volunteer leadership. The NBCC Board has ultimate responsibility for setting policy.

We appreciate your commitment to NBCC and welcome your interest in serving on the Board of Directors.
