HOW TO APPLY

LEADGrads Online

What is Project LEAD®?

Project LEAD, the National Breast Cancer Coalition Fund’s premier science training course for activists, has created a revolution in the world of breast cancer research and public policy. The courses have prepared graduates to engage in the wide range of local and national forums where breast cancer decisions are made. Project LEAD graduates bring an educated consumer perspective and critical thinking skills to the important issues and controversies in breast cancer.

For additional background on the LEAD Vision

Which Project LEAD® is Right for Me?

The National Breast Cancer Coalition Fund offers several different Project LEAD training courses. Each course focuses on preparing advocates to engage and effectively influence breast cancer decision-making within different types of local and national forums. The courses range from shorter introductory courses open to all to longer intensive courses in which students are chosen through a competitive application process.

NEW! The Project LEAD Workshop is a two-day introduction to anyone interested in learning the basics of breast cancer science, how the biomedical research process works, how to more accurately understand scientific information in the news, and how to become a more effective breast cancer advocate in your community.

The Project LEAD Institute is a five-day science course on cancer biology, genetics, epidemiology, research design, and advocacy. Quality Care Project LEAD is a four-day course on how to improve the quality of breast cancer care through systems change. Clinical Trials Project LEAD is a four-day advanced course on understanding and improving the clinical trials process. Read more about each of the three courses, the topics covered, and subjects taught to find out which course you should apply for today!
