FY2021 Department of Defense Breast Cancer Research Program (DOD BCRP) Letter

Thank you to all the NBCC advocates for your work in urging your members of Congress to sign onto the letters asking for $150 million for the DOD BCRP in FY2021. Due to your efforts, 199 members signed on in the House and 24 in the Senate. We could not have done this without you! If your members signed on, please reach out and thank them.

Metastatic Breast Cancer Access to Care Act

The House bill, H.R. 2178, has 137 cosponsors. Rep. Connolly (D-VA) is our latest cosponsor. The Senate bill, S. 1374, has 16 cosponsors. If your members have not cosponsored, please urge them to do so. More information on this legislation and actions you can take can be found here.

2020 Advocate Leadership Summit

NBCC has been monitoring the current situation regarding the spread of COVID-19. At this time, we are planning to move forward with the NBCC Advocate Leadership Summit, scheduled for May 2-4 in Washington, DC. However, we will of course continually reassess that decision and expect to make a final decision within the next two weeks.

In the meantime, please do what you can to ensure your own health. Follow the CDC’s recommendations for avoiding the virus, including staying home if you feel sick, frequently washing your hands, and regularly disinfecting commonly used areas. For more information on COVID-19 and how best to protect yourself, please visit the CDC’s website: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-nCoV/index.html.
