Yesterday, more than 30 breast cancer advocates in Tennessee visited Rep. David Kustoff’s Memphis office to demand his support– and commitment to take action– on the Metastatic Breast Cancer Access to Care Act. They succeeded.
Kustoff in The Daily Memphian:
I got educated and informed this morning, and it was important to hear personal stories. So I’ve agreed to co-sponsor the bill, and we’re going to talk to the Ways and Means Committee and see what we can do in these remaining weeks.
National Breast Cancer Coalition (NBCC) Tennessee team leader Julie Evert:
How much paper does (Kustoff) get hit with every day? It’s probably a tremendous amount. And it’s just a number; it’s just a bill. And until you can put faces and you hear stories and you say, ‘Wow! Like, maybe he knows somebody, whatever.’ But these are his constituents.
