NBCC Advocate Leadership Summit Policies - National Breast Cancer Coalition

NBCC is committed to supporting advocates who take part in the Advocate Leadership Summit. On this page, you’ll find policies related to registration, fundraising, refunds, scholarships, and accommodations. These guidelines are designed to make your Summit participation clear and accessible.

Group Registration Process

For group registrations of more than one person, you may either:

Register multiple participants directly through the online registration system using a single payment method, or
Contact Sharnita Goins at 202.973.0569 or sgoins@stopbreastcancer.org for assistance with group registration and payment by credit card

Hotel Discount

$50 discount per hotel room for the 2027 Summit

To help defray some of the cost of attending the Summit, NBCC is offering to cover $50/night for each hotel room booked through the NBCC block at the Washington Marriott at Metro Center. The discount applies to the room rate, not per person. This means that if two attendees share a room, the total discount remains $50 per night for that room.

The discount will result in a reduced hotel rate for the Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday nights while attending the Summit. The discount will reduce the rate from $329/night to $279/night + tax for Summit attendees. Attendees who wish to cover the $50/night personally can make a donation to NBCC for that amount. This discount is only valid for attendees reserving their room at the Washington Marriott as part of the NBCC room block.

Registration Refund Request

Should a Summit registrant who has fully paid their registration fee request a refund, NBCC will refund the registration fee minus a $50.00 administration fee. The registrant must request a refund via email before the start of the Summit. Please submit your request to leadershipsummit@stopbreastcancer.org. An NBCC staff member will respond within a week with a message indicating whether the reimbursement is approved. A refund will not be approved once the Summit has begun and may take up to 30 days after the Summit to process.

If a participant has registered at the full price, they may not readjust their rate later to the buddy rate.

Summit Champion Fundraising Policies

Summit Champions raise funds to attend the Advocate Leadership Summit including funds to support registration and hotel.

Funds may not be used to support travel.
Fundraisers must meet their goal by March 19, 2027.
Funds may be raised on behalf of another registrant or group of registrants.
All gifts above and beyond your goal will be applied to support current year Summit programming.

Scholarship Process

NBCC offers several scholarship opportunities to assist attendees with the cost of participating in the Summit. Scholarship resources may be used to cover the cost of registration, travel, and hotel. Please reach out to Skye Wilson, swilson@stopbreastcancer.org, with any scholarship questions.

Scholarships are for current NBCC members only and cover the cost of Summit registration or up to $600 toward either hotel or travel. Update your membership here!
The deadline to apply for a scholarship using an online application is Friday, February 19, 2027.
Scholarship applicants may only apply for one scholarship type.
Scholarship recipients will be notified by Friday, February 26, 2027.
Within 30 days of the end of the Summit, travel scholarship recipients must submit all receipts to Skye Wilson at swilson@stopbreastcancer.org.
Scholarship recipients must register for the Summit by Friday, March 26, 2027.
In order to receive a hotel scholarship, applicants must stay at the Washington Marriott at Metro Center.
Recipients of hotel scholarships must make their own reservations. The award amount will be discounted from the final bill upon check-out. To reserve a room in NBCC’s room block, use this link.
