2020 Advocate Leadership Summit – We Are Going Virtual

Thank you to those who have registered for the 2020 Advocate Leadership Summit. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, NBCC has decided to hold a 2020 Virtual Advocate Leadership Summit and a Virtual Lobby Day. The Virtual Advocate Leadership Summit will consist of a series of live webcasts featuring all the topics and speakers you would have seen at the live in-person meeting. We are currently identifying hosting platforms that will allow for dynamic, interactive Q&A with live speakers while also providing for online engagement among our advocates. All sessions conducted as part of the Virtual Summit will be archived for on-demand viewing by all paid registrants. Visit the program online for a list of planned sessions, which will include panel sessions and workshops.

If you have questions about your registration, or would like to register, please visit bit.ly/Register2020Virtual Summit.

2020 Project LEAD® Status Update

Due to the uncertainty surrounding the coronavirus pandemic, we are temporarily pausing the application process for the 2020 Project LEAD Institute, scheduled at the end of July. We are currently still moving forward and will reassess that decision in the coming weeks. We will provide further updates as decisions are made. In the meantime, contact Skye Wilson at swilson@stopbreastcancer.org if you have any questions.

Upcoming Project LEAD Webinars

These exciting programs are designed exclusively for LEAD grads who are looking to hone their skills and sharpen their understanding of issues in breast cancer. Contact Skye Wilson for more information at swilson@stopbreastcancer.org.

NBCC Best of Webinar and Quiz Challenge: For all our Members

Over the coming months, we plan to invite you to live webinars, share access to our most successful training activities, engage in virtual chats, and challenge you with interactive and engaging quizzes and events.

As a start to this effort, we are releasing a series of past webinars that give basic information about breast cancer, vaccines and other treatments. To launch this series, we have provided you with a link to a webinar featuring Dr. Keith Knutson, Mayo Clinic, presenting on the state of vaccines for breast cancer in 2019.

Vaccines For Breast Cancer – Where are we in 2019?

After the presentation, we challenge you to test your knowledge by taking a brief quiz on key concepts presented in this video.

Save the Date for NYC Women With Balls®

Due to coronavirus pandemic, we have rescheduled the NYC Women With Balls® bowling fundraiser for Tuesday, September 22, 2020, at Frames Bowling Lounge.

This is a great event that brings together like-minded, compassionate, and energetic women and men to raise money, bowl, and have fun – all for a wonderful cause. Enjoy food, drinks and prizes.

There are three ways you can participate:

1. Teams of 8 bowlers must raise a minimum of $3,600 to play and will receive a private lane.

2. Teams of 4 bowlers must raise a minimum of $1,800 to play.

3. Individuals who raise a minimum of $450 will be paired with a team.

All proceeds raised will support the National Breast Cancer Coalition’s mission to end breast cancer.

For information on how to register, or if you wish to donate, please contact Sharnita Goins at sgoins@stopbreastcancer.org or 202.973.0569.

A Request from Fran Visco, President: NBCC needs your support now more than ever!

During these uncertain times, I would like to ask our friends and advocates to consider making a donation to support the National Breast Cancer Coalition and its mission to end breast cancer. Due to the coronavirus, we were forced to reschedule our Annual Advocate Leadership Summit, our Annual Lobby Day, our team leader training, and fundraising events. These events are the backbone of our organization and our annual budget.

We are already speaking to foundations and corporations about the additional support we need to help us manage our budget for the year. Please know that shifting plans mid-stream carries a significant price tag. If you are in a position to help NBCC, please consider making an extra online donation today. Visit our donation page.
