House Minority Leader

Dear Leaders Schumer and Jeffries,

On behalf of the National Breast Cancer Coalition‘s (NBCC) hundreds of member organizations from across the country representing millions of individuals, including women and men with breast cancer, their families, and friends. I want to thank you for centering the health care needs of people in the U.S. in your demands for a bipartisan agreement on a continuing resolution.

NBCC is an evidence-based grassroots organization that supports science on many levels. Our mission since 1991 has been to end breast cancer. Our successes have included increasing federal funding for innovative breast cancer research, increasing access to quality care for women with breast cancer, educating breast cancer consumer advocates, and facilitating their influence in the world of breast cancer.

NBCC’s roots lie in activism. We continue to shift the conversation away from what is expected and what is easy and toward what will have a real impact on people’s lives. It is in that spirit that we stand with you to demand real solutions to the very dangerous threats facing the U.S. health care system today, including the expiration of ACA premium tax credits and the changes to Medicaid.

Like you, we understand that lives are at stake, and we stand ready to work with you to achieve the results you demand on our behalf.

Sincerely,
Fran Visco, NBCC President
