NBCC BOARD OF DIRECTORS REQUEST FOR NOMINATIONS

Applications are due by July 31, 2020

The National Breast Cancer Coalition invites your organization to nominate an individual to serve on the Board of Directors. Applications must be submitted by July 31, 2020 and the election will be held in Fall 2020.

About the Board of Directors

The Board comprises up to 26 individuals representing national, state, regional, and local organizations that bring diverse perspectives to NBCC’s public policy and legislative initiatives. Click here to see a list of current Board members.

Expectations and Meetings

The NBCC Board meets in person three times a year in Washington, D.C., and a fourth meeting is held via teleconference/webinar. It is expected that each Director will attend all Board meetings.

Travel and Expenses

Each Board member is responsible for assuming the costs associated with her/his participation on the Board, including travel expenses. Individuals in close proximity to Washington, D.C. incur lower expenses and those from areas not serviced by a major airport tend to incur higher expenses. In addition, each Board member is expected to contribute $500 in dues per year.

Application Deadline July 31, 2020

Organizations nominating an individual to serve on the NBCC Board of Directors must submit a completed application no later than Friday, July 31, 2020. To request an application packet, please email Michelle Wheeler, Senior Manager of the Executive Office at mwheeler@stopbreastcancer.org.

If you are unable to participate on the Board of Directors, we encourage grassroots member organizations and individuals alike to get involved in our public policy initiatives to help us make a major impact on our nation’s science and health care systems.

All members are encouraged to become directly involved in our advocacy efforts by joining the National Action Network. Organizations can further increase their participation in federal and state advocacy through NBCC’s network of volunteer leadership. The NBCC Board has ultimate responsibility for setting policy.

We appreciate your commitment to NBCC and welcome your interest in serving on the Board of Directors.

Sincerely,

Christine Norton, Chair
National Breast Cancer Coalition 2020 Nominating Committee
