Michelle Tregear serves as Chief Programs Officer at the National Breast Cancer Coalition (NBCC), where she leads the organization’s education, science, and research advocacy initiatives. Diagnosed with breast cancer in 2008, Tregear brings both lived experience and more than 25 years of experience in healthcare research, education, program evaluation, and project management to her work. Prior to joining NBCC, she directed federally funded health research and evidence-based practice initiatives at AFYA, Inc. and ECRI Institute. Tregear serves as a patient advocate on TRIO’s Breast Cancer Scientific Advisory Committee and is a cofounder of the Common Sense Oncology initiative. She earned her PhD in Experimental Psychology from the University of Colorado Boulder and completed postdoctoral fellowships at Harvard Medical School, the University of Pennsylvania, and the University of Colorado.
