A message from NBCC President, Fran Vicso:
Tania Chomiak-Salvi was an amazing advocate and an incredible human being. I am grateful that I had the opportunity to know and work with her. We were honored to know that someone like Tania chose NBCC among all groups, for her advocacy.
Tania served for 25 years at the US Department of State in Kazakhstan, Poland, Belgium, the United Kingdom, New York, and Washington. She received her Masters degree from the Fletcher School at Tufts University, her BA from the University of Virginia and graduated from McLean High School. Tania was a member of the Holy Trinity community, she taught public diplomacy at the US Foreign Service Institute, the Meridian International Center and for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
Tania is also survived by her mother, Martha Bohachevsky Chomiak of Washington, DC as well as her sister Dora Chomiak, of New York City.
In lieu of flowers, please contribute to the Tania Chomiak-Salvi Memorial Fund at the National Breast Cancer Coalition, which supports scholarships for advocates in need for NBCC’s Annual Advocate Summit, team leader training, and Project LEAD.
