NBCC Enters the Next Phase in Its Mission to End Breast Cancer

August 20, 2026

Since 1991, the National Breast Cancer Coalition (NBCC) has combined the power of advocacy, education, policy, and research around one mission: ending breast cancer.

For the past several years, NBCC leadership has been laying the foundation of a plan to ensure our impactful evolution well into the future until we achieve our mission. We are in the initial stages of a plan for successor leadership. Fran Visco has been the elected president of NBCC for more than 30 years. She intends to move into a president emerita and senior advisor role once the plan is executed and new leadership is in place. The transition plan includes moving from an elected president to a staff chief executive officer.

As the organization enters its next chapter, NBCC is seeking a chief executive officer (PDF) to provide the vision, strategy, and day-to-day leadership necessary to end breast cancer for everyone, everywhere. The search is managed by BoardWalk Consulting, in collaboration with an internal committee of board members and staff.

“The strength of NBCC’s grassroots, our advocacy, and our programs are like no other breast cancer organization,” said Visco. “I remain committed to NBCC through this next phase of our work and until we achieve our mission.”
