Historical Redlining and the Ongoing Influence on Breast Cancer Risk and Survival

When: Thursday, July 10 at 3:00 pm EST
Speaker: Sarah Lima, MPH, PhD, Department of Epidemiology and Environmental Health, University at Buffalo
Description: Historical redlining is a residential segregation policy from the 1930s that influenced urban planning in cities across the US. Despite being outlawed in the 1960s, redlining has been shown to be associated with present-day neighborhood socioeconomic conditions, health resources, and physical environment — all factors important for breast cancer risk and survival. This webinar will cover how redlining is associated with breast cancer risk factors and survival disparities today and potential paths forward.
