Last night, the House of Representatives voted to pass a “continuing resolution” which extends government funding until September 30 but does not set appropriations (funding) levels for specific programs including the Department of Defense Breast Cancer Research Program (DOD BCRP).
The bill now heads to the Senate and its fate remains uncertain. We must keep up the pressure. Call your Senators TODAY and demand they vote NO on the Continuing Resolution, and instead pass their regular Appropriations Bill which will support the DOD BCRP and other crucial programs.
I am a breast cancer advocate with the National Breast Cancer Coalition and a constituent.
I urge you to vote NO on the continuing resolution and instead pass a Defense Appropriations Bill before the March 14 funding deadline.
Subjecting defense appropriations to a dangerous stopgap funding bill will undo decades of progress from the landmark DOD Breast Cancer Research Program, a vital program that enjoys overwhelming bipartisan support.
Please pass the Defense Appropriations Bill without delay! Thank you.
